Frank L. Hintons uncle, O. L. Hinton was in the old Plummers Landing store before 1884. He made wagons and had a spoke factory. Frank L. Hinton took over the facility in 1918 selling mostly groceries, hardware and clothing. His son, Frank O. Hinton, opened his first feed mill in 1956 to accommodate a change in agriculture. In 1992 a new building was constructed across the road from the original general store (which was tore down the following year). In June of 2005, construction began on a new feed mill with overhead storage to allow bulk loading. The new feed mixing and packaging facility was completed in December of 2005. These changes mean shorter waiting time and consistent product. We bag most of the packaged feed our stores sell, as well as all the products we wholesale, at this location. |
